Card Advantage
Why drawing extra cards quietly wins games.
Card advantage means ending up with more cards — and so more options — than your opponent. A two-for-one trade or a spell that draws two cards builds a lasting edge.
Ways to get ahead
- Raw draw
- Spells and abilities that simply draw extra cards.
- Selection
- Scry, surveil, and dig that improve quality without raising count.
- Two-for-ones
- Removal or creatures that answer two of the opponent's cards at once.
- Recursion
- Returning cards from the graveyard reuses them for more total value.
Be mindful of card disadvantage too: pitching extra cards or chaining one-mana cantrips can leave you with fewer real threats.
